DRAM is a not-for-profit resource providing educational communities with on-demand streaming access to CD-quality audio (192kbps Mp4), complete original liner notes and essays from independent record labels and sound archives. One of DRAM's primary focuses is the preservation and dissemination of important recordings that have been neglected by the commercial marketplace, recordings that may otherwise become lost or forgotten.

Currently DRAM's collection contains more than 3,000 albums worth of recordings from a distinctive set of 26 independent labels including music from contributing sources such as CRI, Mode, Edition Wandelweiser, XI, Pogus, Deep Listening, Lovely Music, Porter, Firehouse 12, and Mutable Music labels. Beyond these terrestrial labels, DRAM features an ever-growing series of archives, including the Ben Hall Gospel 45 collection, the complete works of composer and Synclavier co-inventor Jon Appleton, Music from Experimental Intermedia, and upcoming content from Mills College.

DRAM is normally only accessible to anyone at a participating university, college or public library.

Individual subscriptions are available now for the first time only through Sound American.

Unlimited access may be obtained for three, six, or twelve months.  Each time period is assigned as a premium for a specific donation amount which may be paid through the paypal link below.  These donations are tax-deductible as contributions to a non-profit organization.

Subscribers to DRAM through Sound American will also receive a free gift !  This issue's gift is a copy of our limited edition reissue of "New and Rediscovered Instruments, Vol. 1"!

Once your payment has been received, our staff will set up your individual account in DRAM and you will receive an email with your username, password, and instructions for streaming tracks as an individual user.

This process may take up to 3 days, due to our small staff.  We’re sorry for this and thank you for your patience in advance.  Whatever length of time your subscription, it will start from the day you receive your username and password, not the day payment is received.

You will receive an email notice when your subscription is about to expire, but your email information is never given to any outside organizations.  Any questions about DRAM service may be sent to answers@dramonline.org , where they will be handled quickly by a member of the staff.  Any questions about Sound American or your subscription may be addressed to us at soundamerican@dramonline.org.

Thank you and enjoy!!!!
